We are missing a few things on this fight. Hidden mechanics we don't understand, and, well, gear.
1) Driving Rhyolith over a dormant (maybe also active) Volcano gives him a stacking 5% damage buff. This buff fades or is consumed somehow as well. This is not in the raid journal. Shouldn't stack above 2 I think.
2) Rhyolith 'prefers' to activate volcanoes in front of him. Also not in the raid journal.
3) Turning Flame. No explanation in-game or on wowhead. Some guy tries to explain it here: us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3082211708
"This is great for when a volcano becomes active on the other side of the platform from where Lord Rhyolith currently is. Turning him towards the newly activated volcano, and then straightening him out will grant him 50%+ movement speed, allowing him to reach and stomp out the volcano faster." -bonechatter
So basically the driver should aim Rhyolith toward an inactive volcano right before he is going to activate one, if possible, but not drive over any inactive ones if he can help it. DBM has the cooldown timer for volcano activation at 25.5 seconds. When a volcano is activated far away, turn towards it and immediately balance the dps on the legs.
Rhyolith stomps every 20 seconds, so here is the timing for the add spawns:
0:00 Pull
0:20 Fragments 1
0:40 Spark 1
1:00 Fragments 2
1:20 Fragments 3
1:40 Spark 2 -
2:00 Fragments 4
2:20 Fragments 5
2:40 Spark 3
3:00 Fragments 4
3:20 Fragments 5
3:40 Spark 4
4:00 Fragments 6
4:20 Fragments 7
4:40 Spark 5

I am still confused about DPS assignments. I've read in some places that one mage can solo all the sparks and one boomkin can solo all the fragments. Some people say tank the spark for a while before swapping to it with all ranged DPS. That would mean fragments would need to be frost nova'd and then misdirected while the spark is getting finished off.
It seemed to me we could hardly get the spark down even with all ranged on it from the moment it spawns. It may be a gear issue.
On wed I'll be running EnsidiaFails to help us with magma flows, as well as Lord Rhyolith Footers, to help us with balancing DPS.
